New charges for waste at County Council recycling centres

These new charges seem to me to be excessive, and will likely increase flytipping. County Councils have been waste and recycling authorities for decades. Surely over that time they have had the opportunity to identify intelligent ways of of disposing of the waste they receive.

I feel the need to investigate this topic in greater depth to understand why these charges are being introduced.

Surrey County Council to leave County Hall in Kingston on Thames

Mentioned in the Surrey matters online magazine is the plan for Surrey County Council to leave County Hall in Kingston on Thames, which is a London borough and not in Surrey.

A sensible decision, don’t you think, to have County Hall in the county of Surrey. I do worry that the relocation costs, especially for staff, need exceptionally tight financial control. Hope that the Council provides detailed information on its plans as they develop. Click on image to link to Council website.
