Green waste bin collections delayed yet again

I suppose this email I received from Biffa, about the delay in emptying our green waste bin, will allow me to stuff more leaves into the bin.

Dear Customer,

I am sorry to advise that due to operational issues you may experience delays in this weeks collection. Should this be the case, we will rearrange the collection to take place as soon as possible, however it may be as late as Saturday. We unreservedly apologise for this delay in service. Please leave your bin out in the normal location and this will be emptied for you this week.

Please be aware also, that due to the amount of calls we are receiving regarding this delay, you may experience lengthy queue times if you give us a call in the next few days. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.

Kindest Regards

Let the Surrey Heath Club take care of your garden waste

In a press release on 18th February 2016, Biffa Municipal announced that the 9,000th member of the Surrey Heath Green Waste Club would have a year’s free membership,

binIf the thought of lugging heavy bags of grass clippings, plants, weeds, small branches, leaf fall and the like to the local tip turns you off, there is a simple answer: join Surrey Heath’s popular, affordable and efficient Green Waste Club.

Currently Over 8,500 residents subscribe to the Surrey Heath service, and to mark the next milestone, a year’s free membership is being offered to the 9,000th resident that joins. That’s another good reason to sign up soon – and if you’re already part of the Club, don’t forget to renew your membership so that you continue getting all its benefits.

The Club, which is operated by experienced waste contractor Biffa, collects garden waste every fortnight for recycling into compost and soil conditioner, rather than being sent to expensive landfill.

Club membership starts from just £4.50 per month, and there are a number of payment options and subscription periods available.  Neighbours with small gardens can also share a membership, reducing the cost even further. In return, you’ll receive a 240 litre wheeled bin which the Club’s cheery crew collect and empty every two weeks.

And there’s more – as a Green Waste Club member, you also get quarterly emailed newsletters, an informative and easy-to-use website, and exclusive offers, such as discounts for recommending a friend, as well as money-off on purchases at an online eco store.

In a survey of Club members conducted last year, over 96% said they were satisfied with the Green Waste Club and the reliability of its fortnightly service, while over nine out of 10 also felt the Club delivered value-for-money.

Nationally, Green Waste Club members have so far helped to recycle over 95,000 tonnes of garden waste, so improving the environment and reducing refuse disposal costs.
