  1. Its about time that this junction was made a No Right Turn either into or out of McDonald Rd. Its near a bend in the Red Rd with cars coming down at 50mph suddenly coming face to face with a junction with queuing traffic. Briar Av is a much safer junction to use. Also why do cyclists use the Red Rd? Any road with a max speed over 30mph should not have cyclists on it!

  2. Ever driven along the A31 west of Farnham on a Sunday morning, there are regular cycling time trial races, along a de-restricted dual carriageway.

  3. There was a 2nd accident the day after this one …. a pic or two on Twitter … car was left on the verge for 24 hours, front-end was a mess …

  4. I wonder what it will take before Highways & SHBC take action? A fatality perhaps? Followed by hand wringing and ‘lessons will be learnt’ etc!!!!!

  5. Another one this morn – only 1 car there at 11.10, windscreen totally fubared …. actually there was a Police car on the Red Rd verge outside the Nursing home, didnt notice if it had damage – but it was still there over an hour later ?

  6. Oh well! I’m sure SHBC SCC & Highways are all taking note! Given the speed at which the loose drain cover on the Lightwater bypass is being repaired there will be more crashes before anything gets done!!!!

  7. When I saw the car I got the impression from the damage to the bonnet and to the centre of the windscreen but little on the front bumper, that it had been an impact with a pedestrian or something similar, but no report of it in the Get Surrey website

  8. Not sure why any pedestrians would be trying to cross the Red Rd at MacDonald Rd the gate to the heathland is further up the road. It also means you don’t get a clear view of those cars coming down the Red Rd at 50mph due to the curve of the road. There is more to this than meets the eye. I understand that this person had a dog with them. Does anyone know the condition of both?

  9. Whats the source of the story about a dog ?

There’s a ‘Kissing Gate’ into the MoD land virtually opposite MacD Rd junction with the Red Rd – one often sees people crossing with dogs – similarly 150/200 yards west up the Red Rd, opposite the track up to Dunross Farm, theres another ‘Kissing Gate’ … theres no footpath on Red Rd here (it starts at MacD Rd) … and its very, very dangerous …

  10. I’ve not seen one opposite MacD Rd but I have used the one further up the Red Rd which is the safer option because of the view afford up & down the Red Rd
