Last Friday we were in the warmth of the Tela Theatre in comfy front row seat to enjoy the musical delights of the Christmas Concert of the Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Logistic Corps.
We’ve been to a number of similar concerts of the RLC Band – each has had a different musical theme and programme. This is possible as the band as the concert programme notes said, “the Band has 12 working ensembles, including a traditional marching band, show band, big band, brass quintets, saxophone quartet, acoustic and rock groups,” and many more.
I know one shouldn’t pick out one part of the programme, being as it was all so good. I did think that one of the band’s outstanding soloists, Sgt Storey’s rendition on the Euphonium of Waly Waly, arr. S Roberts was gorgeous.
