When writing here about Surrey County Council begins part-night time street lighting in Surrey Heath in December 2016, I wasn’t aware of when the lights were to to switched off.
I’ve learned, from County Cllr Bill Chapman’s ward newsletter, that the lights will be switched off from Midnight through to 5.0 am.
What I haven’t learned is how the public can request specific streets to remain lit through the night. The County Council’s FAQs don’t answer that question. They do say that the Police have been included in the consultations about which street should remain lit.
Therefore, I’ll be attending the upcoming Surrey Heath Local Area Committee meeting on Thursday, 8th December, at High Cross Church in Camberley. The meeting begins at 6.0 pm, when for the first 30 -40 minutes the public can ask questions. Writing to the Local Area Committee a minimum of seven days prior to a meeting means that question will receive a written reply at the meeting. contact details HERE.
