We’ve been suffering from a holiday deficit. What’s one of those? Simply not enjoying enough holidays and days out. Our cure has been weekends away, lots of days out, and a couple of holidays, with more planned.
Meanwhile, changes have occurred. Nothing major, just neighbours have a rather splendid new fence, trees pruned, a funeral director occupying what was Barclays Bank in Lightwater, and most important of all we missed the 60th anniversary celebrations of George Arthur Butchers in Lightwater.
Chatting with John Dickinson and Oliver Horrocks yesterday, they told me that around 250 people attended their celebration, and how encouraged they felt that they were so well regarded by the Lightwater villagers. We’d love to have been there. A penalty for having so many away days.
