On 14th September Surrey Heath Borough Council announced that two electric vehicle (EV) charging points have been installed in Main Square car park, Camberley.
The points are situated at two single bays on the ground floor which are both designated for vehicle recharging. The charging points are supplied by POD Point using a contactless payment system that users can access via a mobile phone app. The easy-to-use system means there’s no need for any user card or ID number.
Cllr Craig Fennell, Business Portfolio Holder, said: “We’re committed to enhancing the services we provide to our customers. Electric cars are friendly for the environment, so we are pleased to support their use through electric charging points at Main Square. It’s hoped visitors will make the best possible use of them.”
Users should download the free POD Point App from an App Store and register their details. Alternatively they can visit the Pod Point Pay As You Go system, phone Pod Point on 020 7247 4114 or email Pod Point customer services via firstname.lastname@example.org to register your details.
There is a fee of £1 per hour which is payable for the time a vehicle is connected to the charger. The fee is charged proportional to the £1 per hour fee. For example, 30 minutes charging will cost 50p and 90 minutes charging will cost £1.50. For more info, go to: www.surreyheath.gov.uk/parking
