Surrey Heath Borough Council announce funds awarded to community groups, [NB my photo of Windlesham Bowls Club]
The scheme provides grants of up to £25,000 to assist groups and organisations in Surrey Heath if funding is needed towards projects benefitting local communities.
On Tuesday 6 September, the council’s Executive awarded a total of £25,000 in grant funding to support All Saints’ Church Hall in Lightwater, Camberley Cricket Club and Windlesham Bowls Club.
Applications to the Community Fund Grant scheme are considered twice a year following deadlines of 30 June and 31 December. Full details of the scheme can be found via: www.surreyheath.gov.uk/residents/communities-wellbeing/grants-funding
- All Saints’ Church Hall in Lightwater will receive £15,000 to modernise their kitchen and toilet facilities.
- Camberley Cricket Club was awarded £5000 to supply and fit a replacement disabled lift within the clubhouse.
- Windlesham Bowls Club will receive £5000 towards a project to extend the club house by four metres which will provide space for a new disabled toilet, storage area and an opportunity to modernise the kitchen area.
Corporate portfolio holder Cllr Josephine Hawkins said: “Many people in Surrey Heath benefit from the services provided by local community groups and we are pleased to support their work with these grants. We encourage local groups who might need assistance towards a worthy project to get in touch and find out if they can apply.”
