No, it’s not my sense of humour, car keys, or even a computer password. It’s as football manager Bill Shankly might say*, it’s much more serious than that.
I’ve found the path down to Folly Bog in Lightwater that begins from the track running alongside Red Road. For those of you not up to date with this story, you can look HERE for more. In short, nature has taken over and the path is fast disappearing, made worse by track-side mowing that removed the signs of where the track began.
It might not mean much to all readers, but for me, I enjoy peering into the boggy areas for sundews, mosses, bog asphodel, and more. So, finding the path again down to the bog is an item of quiet satisfaction, and well worth contemplation over a cup of tea. See photos below [click to enlarge] of the rediscovered path. 1-path begins nearly opposite Scots Pine tree, 2-the path beginning is just discernible, and 3-path not completely lost when viewing from the bog.
* “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don’t like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”
