Perhaps I should explain a bit about what Probus is all about. It’s an odd name, I know. It derives from who it’s for, which is retired or semi retired men with a professional or business background – hence Probus.
Essentially, it’s a monthly lunch club giving a chance for a chinwag over a convivial lunch, with an after-lunch speaker. Of the Probus clubs in the borough, Camberley & District Probus Club is the oldest, while ladies have their own club – Surrey Heath Ladies Probus Club, and jolly active it is too.
Members of Camberley & District Probus enjoy the variety of well-organised outings, as this flyer, below, for our August outing testifies. We’re a welcoming club. If you’re over 55, and think that this sort of club might be for you, then do please contact our secretary Alan Raffaelli by email: firstname.lastname@example.org, or by telephone on 01276 501569 to find out more about the club.
Meanwhile, being someone who likes steam engines, I’m looking forward to encountering the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. Expect a report here on our visit.
