What will I do with myself when the Tour de France ends tommorrow

Chris Froome after winning stage 21 of the Tour de FranceSome of you may say it’s only a cycle race. I suppose it is, though it’s the world’s greatest cycle race lasting three weeks.

If I’ve not been able to sit in front of the TV from 2.0 pm to around 4.30 pm to watch it live on ITV, then I’ve caught the ITV highlights show at 7.0 pm.

This year’s Tour de France must be one of the best. There’s been no drug issues which blighted the tour a few years ago; Britons have won 7 stages, with Mark Cavendish winning 4 stages, Steve Cummings 1 stage, and Chris Froome 2 stages, plus, barring a major accident, he’ll win his third Tour.

My dear wife has a list of things needing attention – no excuses when the tour ends tommorrow.

  1. Then you had better not tell her about something happening in Rio in a few weeks time that will require quite a lot of sofa time in front of the TV.
