Spring garden visits 1 of 3: Visiting gardens calms the soul

NGS Open Gardens Surrey 2016Perfect garden visiting weather last weekend. Hope you took advantage, as we did, to visit local Surrey gardens open in the National Garden Scheme mentioned in my earlier report.

It’s fun visiting gardens open for charity. They’re mostly only open to the public on a few days of the year, which makes you think it’s a special treat. For those of us with small gardens, just one or two of the plants we see in these big gardens would swamp us. So no envy involved. Just admiration and joy of nature’s bounty.

Visiting these large gardens is calming. Also, it’s a chance to enjoy the owners cake making skills, along with refreshing cup of tea. Report coming on the two gardens we visited.
