Diary Note 3: Lecture about Herbert Sulzbach: The Man with a Big Heart

The story of Herbert Sulzbach is of an inspirational man. His medal collection in the RLC Museum was one of the objects selected for ‘A History of Surrey in 50 Objects‘.

The RLC Museum is hosting an evening lecture about him on 23rd June. Here’s the lecture description,

“Herbert Sulzbach: The Man with a Big Heart” – With these words, the German Ambassador described Herbert Sulzbach (1894-1985), who fought for Germany in WWI and with the Pioneer Corps in WWII. He was awarded both the OBE and the Grand Cross of the German Federal Republic for his post-war work fostering Anglo-German co-operation. In this lecture Ainslie Hepburn explores the man and his fascinating life.
