Red Road has a new device – but what’s it for?

On Monday morning this week I saw a policeman erecting a device, presumably traffic related, on a lamp post on Red Road [B311].

Determined to discover what this device is for, yesterday, I filmed it. Do you know what it’s for? My guess is that it’s connected with surveying traffic volumes. I could be wrong. Here’s the video,

  1. I have just met a SCC traffic survey guy who said he will be on a count at the Ambleside/Macdonald Road junction on Monday, so not using another of those boxes.
