Camberley Christmas Light Switch On with Make A Wish volunteers and Aladdin panto cast

Surrey Heath Borough Council has announced the Camberley Lights Switch On this Saturday 14th November with volunteers from Make-A-Wish® UK, and cast members of Camberley Theatre’s Aladdin panto, which runs from 7 December 2015 – 3 January 2016.

L-R Aladdin, Widow Twankey, Wishee WasheeThe Camberley Christmas Light Switch On takes place on Saturday 14 November and the cast of Camberley Theatre’s pantomime, Aladdin will be joining in the fun. The pantomime cast are set to have a dedicated stage in The Mall outside House of Fraser throughout the day.  There will be games, activities and of course a song or two accompanied by the pantomime’s fantastic Musical Director, Graeme Budd on a baby grand piano.  At 1pm the cast will be joined by Lyndhurst School for some Christmas Carols. There will also be a Camberley Theatre stall on the High Street with lots of information about the pantomime and other events planned at the theatre in the New Year. In addition to this we will be joined by some Make-A-Wish UK volunteers who will be fundraising throughout the event. This year, the Camberley Theatre pantomime is proudly supporting Make-A-Wish UK.

Make-A-Wish UK grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Working together with Camberley Theatre will help raise more funds for the charity. If you would like to be entered into a prize draw to win pantomime tickets, inside the Collectively Camberley Christmas Brochure is a Christmas decoration that children can fill in with a special Christmas wish.  If you hand the completed wish in at one of our stalls (either in the Mall or on the High Street), it will be hung on our Christmas Wishing Tree in the theatre and you will be entered into the prize draw. This year’s pantomime Aladdin is a brand new interpretation of the classic story. Mark Slowey returns, by popular demand as the wonderfully wacky pantomime dame, Widow Twankey.  However, his skills don’t stop there – this year Mark has also written and directed the show. Join all the cast on a magical carpet ride adventure full of fun, laughs and audience interaction.  This brand new pantomime is not to be missed.  Tickets for Aladdin can be purchased online at www.camberleytheatre.biz or by calling the Box Office on 01276 707600.
