Finding buried treasure with the Mytchett, Frimley Green & Deepcut Society

We do try to get to the Frimley Green Carnival. This year was one such year we enjoyed the carnival procession, the stalls, and the events on the show field. We stopped by the tent of the Mytchett, Frimley Green & Deepcut Society’s, chatted to Carol Drew on the stand, and were happy to be joined in our conversations by the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Joanne Potter.

The Society has an amusing fund raising game called ‘Find the buried treasure’. It means selecting an area on a map of where you thought the treasure lay hidden. Jany and I each had numerous attempts to determine the location of the hidden treasure. We left the tent in the knowledge that the winner would be announced a day or so later. One of those oddities in life when circumstances cause a delay in presenting the winner with the prize. Well, Carol and Mike Drew visited us at home on Sunday to present Jany with the prize for winning. Must say, I love the miniature treasure chest in which the prize money was delivered.
