Docile Belted Galloway cattle and their cowpats

Belted Galloway CattleNo, I’m not posting images of cowpats. Just to say that in the area of Folly Bog and Hangmoor alongside the Bisley and Pirbright ranges opposite Lightwater, there’s an increasing incidence of cowpats, well, just everywhere really.

They come from the dozen or so Belted Galloway cattle doing good work in chewing through the invasive scrub. This allows the heath and the heather to thrive. I only wish they would munch through the bracken, and nibble away at the Scots Pine saplings before they get established.

Whatever – they’re docile creatures, not really wanting to lift their heads from eating while I walk by them.
