Dr Graham Rood’s inspiring talk on Farnborough Air Sciences Trust

Dr Graham RoodLast week at our monthly lunch of Camberley & District Probus Club we enjoyed a stimulating after-lunch talk by Dr Graham Rood.

Graham talked to us about the history of the RAE [Royal Aircraft Establishment] at Farnborough and how the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust saved and preserved the important buildings, equipment, aircraft and records of the RAE. [See history of the RAE].

I couldn’t resist talking to Graham after his talk – a truly inspirational story about saving our aviation history.

  1. While you are on the topic of aviation history can someone ask our MP if he knows why Capt Eric ‘Winkle’ Brown RN hasn’t been knighted for his services to aviation? He holds the record of the most number of different aircraft flown. If you need any more evidence of this mans contribution to UK aviation may I recommend his book ‘Wings on my Sleeve’
