To avoid the crowds, best to plan your Open House London visits now

Open House London 2015Open House London 2015 is on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September. I’ve had an email reminder to – see image.

This event is increasingly popular, for the simple reason that you get access to places not normally open to the general public. Some years ago we enjoyed a visit to the Foreign Office – absolutely wonderful – its Durbar Court and Locarno Room have figured in our national history, and continue to do so.

More recently we’ve been to Crossness Engine House, and failed more than once to visit the ‘Gherkin’. I know it’s stating the obvious, but due to the popularity of this event, it pays to book up, and also to arrive early. I’ll let you know where we hope to visit this year.
