Update to report on London’s changing skyline

Gosh, it’s only last September that I wrote a detailed account of London’s changing skyline, including a number of new skyscraper developments. I listed fourteen skyscrapers in that report, either recently built or in the process of being built.

Visiting London on Monday this week I couldn’t fail to miss the new high rise buildings of the Embassy Gardens development being erected at Nine Elms. The cornerstone  to the development is obviously the new US embassy is being built there, which has also attracted the Dutch embassy to commit to a move there, and perhaps the Chinese embassy may follow.

Reported yesterday by Reuters is that the state of Qatar plans to extend its London property empire with a 27-storey tower next to the Shard, and will submit a planning application next week.

London’s high rise expansion is relentless.
