When I began this blog I collected statistical data on Lightwater and Surrey Heath and compiled a brief history, see in About Lightwater.
While researching The South East England Health Strategy I came across this chart [click to enlarge] of Health deprivation by super area, South East England 2007 in the report.
And this got me looking at the source data on the Department for Communities and Local Government report on the English Indices of Deprivation 2007 HERE.
The result was that I spotted that Surrey Heath has dropped down the rankings. In the 2001 Census out of 354 administrative areas in England Surrey Heath Borough was 353rd in the index of multiple deprivations.
We are no longer 353rd out of 354. We are number 352 in the list. Still not bad, but we’re pipped in the list by Wokingham who are the least deprived, then our neighbouring Borough of Hart.
