Flourish Community Garden’s garden design project - ’Moveable Feast’ - has been accepted into the 2013 Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
Based in Frimley Lodge Park, the Flourish Community Garden design for the Flower Show is in the summer garden category, which the organisers describe as; a fantastic chance for up-and-coming designers to experience a garden build without the pressure of completing a large Show Garden.
Combining two groups, the Deepcut army wives group, and the Flourish Community Garden in Frimley Lodge Park, it has the support of Surrey Heath Borough Council, although with minimal funding support, requiring Flourish to acquire support and funding from local residents and businesses.
Perhaps I should declare an interest here. After qualifying as a garden designer from Merrist Wood College, I worked as a nursery hand in a local specialist nursery, and assisted in setting up their exhibit at a previous Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. That exhibit won the much coveted Tudor Rose Award for Best in Show.
A fantastic project which all the members of Flourish will look back on as a wonderfully memorable experience. Before then, there’s a huge amount of hard work, and anxiety.

Tim, A really good blog in my opinion. What an interesting early career you had! Regards, Bill
