The cornerstones of education are maths and english

I’m wont to ask schoolchildren of any age, what is their favourite subject. When the reply is maths, I’m really delighted. Being good at maths underpins a successful life, as it opens many doors to a career of work, such as, business, education, science, or finance.

I should’ve taken double maths on Friday’s at school rather than learning to play the cello. Guess what, learning the cello didn’t last long, and my maths isn’t as good as it should be. I tried the Williams Formula 1 maths test and scored 12 out of 15, failing on the questions on fractions and logarithms.

  1. I’m feeling smug. But are logarithms taught at school any longer? I wouldn’t expect any ‘young’ person to be able to answer the two logs questions.
