Fact: Effective tax rates lower in UK than most of Europe

This is the second in the mini-series of interesting facts. Reported in The Economist’s Graphic Detail is an analysis of national effective tax rates on gross incomes of $100,000, produced by accountants KPMG.

With these types of analyses, there’s reflection – see comments on the Economist’s article - on how the report is compiled. However, the UK comes out reasonably well in the analysis.
