China’s coal production almost 50% of world’s output

I’m an occasional visitor to The Oil Drum blog. While obviously oil industry-centric, it also looks at the wider energy industry. I spotted THIS ARTICLE of the scale of world coal production and of China’s coal output in particular. Here’s the table from the blog post,

The growth in China’s coal production feeds their growing energy needs. It appears, from China Coal Resource that China needs additional railway lines to transport the coal. It’s the scale of growth in China’s industrial base that impresses.
