Sun shines on Lightwater’s Fair in the Square

Happy were the organisers – Lightwater Business Association, stallholders, and performers that the sun shone on Lightwater’s autumn Fair in the Square on Saturday. The chairman of the LBA, and key organiser of the Fairs in the Square, is Tim Salter, of Carson & Co estate agents, is captured in this photo looking super cool and relaxed at the Fair.

Entertainment provided by dancers from the Briar Dance Academy in Lightwater, with modern dance and ballet routines, and three very young girls sang their hearts out delighted the watching audience of visitors and family. Dancers and singers from the Terri Jayne School of Dance also performed for the crowds.

Among the stalls were Funky Daisy, with their sparkly jewellery, and a smart and shiny Volkswagen camper van displayed by West End-based Camp in a VDub. The stall from regular Fair in the Square attendees - Windlesham Country Market, offered a variety of locally made jams, cakes, and locally produced honey.

Free food and drink tastings was provided by Duffy’s Budgens, of some of their new food lines, including tasty snacks from the Stuffed Mushroom Company, Little’s Flavoured Coffee, and Turkish Flatbread. Meanwhile, George Arthur Butchers offered hot pork and apple rolls from their stall.

The ‘biggie’ of Lightwater’s Fairs in the Square is our Christmas Fayre in the Square. This year the Fayre is on Saturday 15th December. Among the host of stalls there’ll be a Father Christmas, music, carol singing, hot mince pies, and spiced mulled wine.
