Attending my first wrap party

A wrap party is traditionally held at the end of shooting of a film or TV show, and is a party for the cast and crew of a film to celebrate the end of shooting.

Daisy and The TrampPreviously I’ve said how I encountered a film being made in The Square in Lightwater. Being much too curious I couldn’t pass something as unusual as a film being shot in the centre of Lightwater. I stopped by, and talked to the director – Ike Khan, and the cameraman. They were friendly and accommodating to my curiosity.

I never heard anything more about it until I received the invitation to the wrap party. It was here that we saw the short film for the first time. The writer of the story and key actor is local actor, Morrison Thomas, and it was his kind invitation.

The film is called Daisy and the Tramp. It’s just over 16 minutes long, and is an amusing story. If you know Lightwater, I’m sure you’ll recognise many of the locations. The photo is a screen grab from the film, and is the shot on the bench outside Duffy’s Budgens in Lightwater.

We were delighted to attend the party, chat to the director, crew and actors in the film. It’s good to know that there’s artistic creativity in our midst.
