West End Agricultural & Horticultural Annual Show

I’m told I’m now a member the West End, Windlesham & District Agricultural and Horticultural Society, courtesy of my wife’s membership.

Recently she paid her entry fee for this year’s show, for four categories in the cookery classes, each a different type of bread or cake. At last year’s show I was probably more chuffed than my wife for her 1st prize in the wholemeal loaf category.

The West End Ag and Hort, for short, is a great country show. Put the date in your diary. The show opens at 2.0pm on Saturday afternoon 8th September. The venue is Tringham Hall and the recreation ground, Benner Lane, West End. Admission £1.50. Afterwards there’s a Barn Dance in the marquee, £10 a ticket [in advance], which includes supper.

There’s plenty to entertain the family, Inside Tringham Hall and the large outdoor marquee there’ll be craft stalls, competition entries for flowers, fruit, wide variety of vegetables, wine & beer, cookery, handicrafts, art pets [Guinea Pig, Hamster, Gerbils, Rabbits], poultry and eggs. That’s just inside, there’ll also be plenty to do, see, and taste outside too.

Fingers crossed for at least one first prize.
