Surprised to see a Red Deer in the Ranges

It’s almost two years ago that I wrote about having my Binoculars at the ready to see the, then, newly released Red Deer into the Bisley and Pirbright Ranges.

During a walk this week from Lightwater to Deepcut to have lunch with my wife at Deepcut Cafe, [dear wife doing a little voluntary work at the RLC museum], I spied a Red Deer in the Ranges looking at me with keen interest. I’ve often wondered how long it would be until I saw one. Well, now I know.

  1. used to see them frequently up on the MVEE tracks, and down along the M3 verge into LCP – also they enraged the residents of High View Road by chosing the most succulent of plants at just the wrong time!

    Used to be a regular cull of the old & weak / injured ones by a chap in a PSA L/Rover ….
