The Hobbit, a film in three parts?

News that J R R Tolkien’s novel The Hobbit is being made into a film seems a natural progression from the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

Perhaps I may be excused from thinking that to make The Hobbit into three-part film is more about making money than creating a work of art in film. Afterall the book’s only 400′ish pages long.
