Celebrating Armed Forces Day with the Royal Logistic Corps

Today is Armed Forces Day, on which we commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.

There are events celebrating the day all around the country. Here in Surrey Heath, we’re lucky in that the Royal Logistic Corps at Princess Royal Barracks in Deepcut hosts an Open Day. A perfect opportunity to talk to soldiers, and thank them for their and service to our nation. Given the MOD’s intent to sell the site, I wonder how many more of these events will happen.

We’ve been to previous Open Days, and confirm that it’s a fun day. The inter-services tug-of-war competition is played with serious intent, and of course, I’m hoping there’ll be an Army curry to sample.
