Volunteer organisers are the essential ingredient in so many aspects of our lives.
This morning I fired the starting pistol for Camberley Athletic Club‘s 3k Family Fun Run. I was a very small part of the organisation of the day, presenting medals to everyone who completed the course.
I chatted to the organisers and stayed to chat to club president Martin Goodway. You can see Martin in the photograph giving the competitors a few important pieces of information. While chatting to Martin the organisers cleared away all the course paraphernalia. Where would any organisation be without the help of volunteers.
The winner, a young man, completed the course in just over 10 minutes. Fun is the right word for the run. Everyone was happy, lots of smile, and all with faces of accomplishment.
This afternoon it’s Camberley Rugby Club’s mini-rugby tournament. Again it’ll be the volunteers who are the key ingredient to success.
