Collectively Camberley’s Farmers Market

Today we visited Collectively Camberley’s Farmers Market in Park Street, Camberley, and were impressed with the range of interesting stalls – bread, cheese, confectionary, fish, smoked fish, and more. I talked with a number of the stall holders, all of whom said that it was a good market for them.

Collectively Camberley is the name of the Business Improvement District [BID] for Camberley. The Farmers Market is one of their initiatives.

Our biggest purchase was cakes from young Mica Brown’s charity stall, collecting funds for ME Research UK. I bumped into her father at Surrey Heath’s Business Breakfast on Friday morning, which is how I found out about Mica’s stall.

My dear wife is a home baker. Our commitments are such that she isn’t a regular baker, so when the chance arises she enjoys talking to bakers. She bought a spelt loaf, and a half-rye loaf. See what I mean. The description isn’t to do with the size or type of loaf, but a description of the type of flour used.
