George’s promises coffee at its best

French outdoor cafe culture comes to Lightwater

Well, that’s the logo for Lightwater’s new coffee shop in the Square.

Last night was the grand opening, where George Duffy welcomed guests with wine, coffee and cake. I had all three – actually, one large slice of cake, two chocolate fairy cakes, and one large chocolate brownie, two glasses of wine, and a coffee. This is a real coffee shop, a place to dally, read the paper and have another coffee, because the chairs and sofa’s are large and comfy.

No need to tell you that this is a fantastic addition to the centre of Lightwater, residents will be able to see for themselves. It’s the comment I heard most last night, “Just what Lightwater needs”.

I walked home, hoping that might save a few calories. Some hope.

UPDATE: Pictures are of Arnold outside, and his colleagues inside. Not George if that’s what you were thinking.
