PMQ’s analysis: Labour should have thrown in the towel

To save a boxer from taking needless punishment, a corner can throw a towel into the ring, signifying defeat. This was the case today, when William Hague faced Harriet Harman in Prime Ministers Questions. Harriet Harman’s performance was so dire, in a boxing contest the corner would’ve thrown in the towel. Judge for yourself in the clip of their exchange below:

As I say each time PMQ’s is a fractious as this, we shouldn’t get too precious about our democracy or Parliament. It’s healthy that it’s occasionally rumbustious. Better than sleepy and dormant. I’ll omit the serious analysis this time, just give my marks out for 10 for each stand-in leader:

Harriet Harman – 2 [tempted to give 1]: William Hague – 9 [tempted to give 10]: Vince Cable – 4
