I’ve said before how I like a well composed chart or graph. Again from the Economist, here’s a chart on the betting odds for President of Europe.
Can’t myself see Tony Blair getting the job, nor would I want him to get the job. He polarises opinions, some strongly pro, and some equally strongly anti, especially William Hague.
My money would be on Mary Robinson, past president of Ireland and a former United Nations human-rights commissioner, rather than an anonymous Belgian or Luxembourgian make-weight politician.
There appear to be divisions in Labour’s ranks over Blair for president. Gordon Brown is apparently getting the civil service to lobby for Blair, while Labour MP’s oppose such an appointment.
