A few magical moments

Mike Duffy, proprietor of Budgens in Lightwater, is a community-focussed guy. It was his idea, his funding, and his energy that involved ALL the children of Lightwater’s Hammond Junior School in a project to create a design for Lightwater’s new eco-friendly re-usable jute shopping bag.

Last Friday I shared in the culmination of the project, when each child and teacher was presented with a shopping bag.  The design on the bag is by Aimee Morgan of class 3D,  the design chosen by over 1500 of Budgens’ shoppers.

While the teachers, Mike Duffy [holding shopping bag], and Lightwater creative photographer Rolf Evans organised the excited children, I stood in front of all the children and waved. Waved more vigorously. Then bowed deeply in front of them in thanks for their exuberant waving and cheering. Pure fun, just me in front of 340 kids. Magical moments.
