Here’s a novel way of comparing the three main party leaders conference speeches, in a Wordle. Thanks to the Guardian, you can see the full detail in each wordle. I couldn’t find Nick Clegg’s speech as a wordle, so had to make do with a Channel 4 Snowcloud, which follows the same principle.
The wordle of David Cameron’s Conservative conference speech [or Snowcloud]:

The wordle of Gordon Brown’s Labour conference speech [or Snowcloud]:

The Snowcloud of Nick Clegg’s Lib Dem conference speech:

It’s very interesting Tim. One would expect the PM to talk about government a lot and the leader of the opposition talk about change, Britain, people, new etc. That they are the other way round is telling.
Another way of looking at it is that DC’s was a more “even” speech – he talked a lot about government but there seems to be a broad range of other mentions. Brown on the other hand has picked out several words and used them a lot.
Which cloud would you prefer if you didn’t know whose was whose (although Clegg’s is obvious because he mentions Liberal and Democrats)?
