Having been out to fill our cars with petrol, before the price jump, my wife encountered the traffic diversions and told me of the dreadful accident on the A322 last night. The full tragedy for the families involved is in the BBC’s report.
I imagine the case for safety barriers along this stretch of the A322 will now be hard to resist.
This is not the way that Lightwater wants its name in the newspapers. Tragic.

The BBC is reporting that the victims have been publicly named. Still a desperately tragic event.
I agree with your comments. I was saddened by this horrific event but annoyed by the numbers of people who chose to watch from the by-pass bridge. Some people have no understanding of the words respect and privacy. The Police eventually had to clear the bridge.
This was not entertainment.

im sorry to say i am guilty of standing on the bridge that day and was in tears seeing such a waist of life my house is next to the carrage way and i lay in bed hearing the traffic speeding along even racing and turning over the central reservation i am not saying speed was involved as none of us no what happened but i do think surrey heath could put barriers up so people cannot crossover if they loose control of there vehcles my heart goes out to allthe families involved and one of the reasons i looked was to see how all the emergency services work together i cannot praise them enough and think everyone would agree iwould also like to say this is the second time this has happened out side my home when police helicopters have landed so i suggest surrey heath should look at accident blackspots we pay enough in community and car tax start making our roads safer please

A tragic waste of life, It’s a real shame it’s not one or all of the little antisocial prats ruining Lightwater in their Peugeot 106s.
