  • New Alderman and past mayor, Derek Franklin

Charity announcement

At the reception, after the mayor making ceremonials, our new Mayor announced his choice of charities for the year, choosing to support the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and Macmillan Nurses, along with a number of smaller local charities.

In other business of the evening, appointments to the various council committees were confirmed.

Should you want to know of my roles for the next council year I’m delighted to report that I’ll be; vice chairman of the Leisure and Environment Scrutiny Committee, and a member of the Standards and Policy and Audit Committees. and, yet to be confirmed, the council representative on the Fairoaks Airport Consultative Committee and Lightwater Playing Field Management Committee.

Another exciting, stimulating, interesting, and enjoyable year ahead.
