A front row seat

If you weren’t in Camberley this morning, you missed a real treat – A Freedom of the Borough Parade by The Royal Logistics Corps and the Frimley and Camberley Cadet Corps, including the Royal Logistics Corps Band.

Freedom of the Borough Parade

Freedom of the Borough Parade

No reserved seat for me – but I did bag a front row seat by sitting myself next to a past Mayor of the Borough, from which I saw all the action at close quarters. Our Mayor thanked the RLC for their service to the nation, with a reply of thanks from the RLC’s Brigadier Wallace.

Later, in the council chambers, the Mayor presented the two Corps with gifts and the Brigadier Wallace replied by presenting to the Borough, a picture of soldiers in action at Basra, Iraq.

The Parade coincides with the opening of the Atrium shopping and leisure development in the centre of Camberley, which the BBC reports HERE.
