This post on the Daily Telegraph’s Three line Whip about Gordon’s nicknames, uncovers in comments a lovely entry in Wikipedia – List of British Prime Ministers by Nickname, going right back to Robert Walpole, and with a good sprinkling of back up attributions.

Here’s a compilation of Gordon Brown’s nicknames – a fast growing list, which, unsurprisingly because of his recent many failings, shows that Gordon Brown has more nicknames than any of our Prime Ministers in history.

Anyway, I’ll not keep you waiting, here they are:

“Golden Brown” – said sarcastically by Terry Wogan

“The big feartie from Fife” – said by Alex Salmond   
“Mr Bean” – said by Vince Cable in Parliament    
“The Laddie’s for turning” – by Fraser Nelson at The Spectator  
“Mr Bean progessing to Mr Has-Been” – another beauty from Vince Cable
