I spotted visitors to this blog looking at my earlier post in April 07 - See how your family have moved around the UK – and in checking the links I included I noticed they’d changed.
So, here’s the new link – National Trust Names – to trace how your family have moved around the UK by comparing the 1881 census to the 1998 census. You can look at the work of the academics who created the application HERE, where it’s referred to as Surname Profiler. They’ve other novel applications such as the London Profiler.
Go on, have a go. It’s a bit of fun. It’ll certainly keep the kids amused for a while.
