In making yet another visit to the Light on Lightwater exhibition at the Surrey Heath Museum, this time to collect some pictorial evidence for a project I’m working on, I bumped into Mary Bennett, the assistant curator.
During a conversation with Mary, always an enjoyable and informative experience, she asked if I’d read her recently published book – Life and Work on Surrey Heath - [ISBN 978-1-86077-492-8], which I hadn’t. I promptly bought one on the spot, and of course had Mary sign it for me.
This book is the result of many years research; it’s beautifully illustrated with 150 photographs and maps, and provides the perfect introduction to the history of Surrey Heath.
The cover price is £16.99, and you can obtain a copy from Surrey Heath Museum, or at an online price of £15.29 from the publishers Phillimore and Co.
PS. The Light on Lightwater exhibition is on until Saturday January 26th. If you’re a Lightwateran, do try to get along to see it. It’s well worth it.
