Just checked the BBC Shop website and also have just spoken to them, and the answer is no, they haven’t produced a DVD of Edwardians in Colour – The wonderful world of Albert Kahn.
The BBC staffer said, “they don’t produce a DVD of every programme they make.” I guess, that her slightly off-hand answer is because she hasn’t seen it herself, as I can’t see why anybody would not be bowled over by the series.
Ah well, that trip to Paris to see them draws ever closer – I just hope I’m not going to be disappointed when I get there. Sitting comfortably at home watching the programme on TV accompanied by tea and biscuits is the pleasure of TV.
My previous posts on the subject HERE and HERE, if you’re interested.

Considering the high percentage of rot passing as ‘factual’ on the BBC these days (see Middle Class Attic Bargains in the Country) I was surprised to find ‘The Edwardians in Colour’ surpass expectation. Thought-provoking, beautiful, amusing, desperately sad – and yes, no DVD release. But it’s the BBC’s loss. Most of these programmes are available if you know what a torrent or peer-to-peer is. Let’s face it – TV is dead.
